Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. In this long-term contract role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and efficient month-end close processes. This position is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in corporate accounting, inventory management, and advanced Excel capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations, including sales, inventory adjustments, payroll, capital, and tax accounts.

• Manage journal entries and general ledger activities to maintain financial accuracy.

• Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Utilize SAP software to support month-end close processes and generate required financial reports.

• Identify and implement improvements in accounting workflows to enhance efficiency.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting-related queries and provide expertise.

• Maintain compliance with organizational policies and applicable accounting standards.

• Analyze complex financial data to support decision-making and strategic planning.

• Train and mentor less experienced staff on accounting best practices and tools. Requirements • A minimum of five years of relevant accounting experience within mid to large-sized corporate environments.

• Proficiency in month-end close processes, including general ledger management and account reconciliations.

• Strong familiarity with inventory adjustments and consumer packaged goods accounting.

• Advanced skills in Excel, including functions beyond basic formulas such as pivot tables and advanced data analysis.

• Experience using SAP for financial reporting and month-end close activities.

• Knowledge of payroll, capital, and tax accounting processes is preferred.

• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams and stakeholders.
