About the Role:

The Dining Services Aide plays a vital role in supporting the nutritional and dining needs of residents within a healthcare setting. This position ensures that meal service is delivered efficiently, safely, and with attention to individual dietary requirements and preferences. The aide collaborates closely with dietary staff and healthcare professionals to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment. By assisting with meal preparation, delivery, and cleanup, the aide contributes to the overall well-being and comfort of those served. This position will require the ability to work some evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ Ability to follow instructions and adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.

+ Basic communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and supervisors.

+ Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks such as lifting trays and cleaning.

+ Prior experience in food service or healthcare settings is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).

+ Experience working in a healthcare or long-term care environment.

+ Familiarity with dietary restrictions and special nutritional needs.

+ Strong interpersonal skills to provide compassionate support to patients and residents.

+ Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

+ Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established dietary guidelines and resident needs.

+ Deliver meals to patients and residents in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring accuracy of orders.

+ Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils following health regulations.

+ Support patients and residents during meal times, including helping those with limited mobility or special needs.

+ Collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to communicate any concerns or special requirements related to meal service.
