Development Services Tech III is an essential part of the Real Property Services division. This position provides day-to-day leadership and works with staff to ensure a high-performance, customer service-oriented work environment.

What you’ll get to do:
+ Lead and participate in the work of technical and administrative personnel in the performance of technical, development review, and permit processing functions and administrative work.
+ Engage with the community, including residents, property owners, business owners, and community-based organizations.
+ Coordinate various stages of the permitting process.
+ Explain the City's processes, codes, and procedures.
+ Respond to customer and public inquiries and complaints; explain and interpret codes, policies, standards, fees, and procedures to the public.
+ Our Development Services Technician III team leaders may be assigned as the "single point of contact" on high-profile initiatives, requiring public speaking and coordination of multiple city codes as it pertains to that assignment.
+ Oversee the processing of applications for permits, inspections, or services; oversee permit issuance.
+ Sustain a culture of safety, organizational excellence, stewardship, and professionalism
+ Apply continuous improvement principles in standard daily work and long-range planning
An Ideal Candidate will have at least 5 years of professional engineering experience specializing in traffic design and operations, and 2 years of experience directing/planning the work of staff.
