    Role Summary:

    The Engineering Intern will support engineering projects and daily operations by assisting with technical design, analysis, testing, and documentation. This role offers hands-on experience in a professional engineering environment and the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on real-world challenges.

     

    Assist Order Engineers with improving engineering processes, evaluate design modifications, ensure code compliance and complete engineering documentation for incoming orders. Assist with evaluation and improvement of order processing methods. Help with analyzing and improving quality, cost, and delivery time. Provide engineering support in production departments by trouble shooting and resolving technical issues. Assist with Engineering documentation improvement tasks and digitization of legacy Engineering documentation.

     

    Internship will start in June 2026 and will end in September 2026.

     

    Work schedule: Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:15 pm.

    Responsibilities:

    + Assist with investigating engineering requirements for incoming orders, developing Quality Assurance Plans, preparing reports required by applicable codes and standards and ensuring that goals are achieved resulting in the highest possible customer satisfaction

    + Help with specifying component materials that reduce costs and improve effectiveness

    + Process simple engineering documentation to support new products and customer requirements

    + Understand and support company objectives and perform duties delegated by management

    + Follow safety rules by helping ensure that designs and processes meet all applicable OSHA regulations and all other applicable codes and standards

    + Follow Flowserve's environmental policies by helping ensure that processes meet all applicable environmental regulations

    + Demonstrate the ability and willingness to be a team player

    + Treat all customers and fellow employees with respect

    + Assist in CAD modeling, design modifications, and conceptual studies for product improvement initiatives.

    + Analyze test results, compile reports, and identify data trends to support engineering decisions.

    + Research industry standards, assess design compliance, and contribute to documentation for audits.

    + Support prototype testing, gather performance data, and assist in validating design improvements. Provide engineering design support for assigned product line, working with other technical resources to compile product design documents (drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, etc.).

    + Coordinate with shop floor and engineering lab to assist in production order assembly and testing to meet lead-time requirements for orders and product development.

    + Support manufacturing and quality in processing orders through the shop floor

    + Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    + Enrolled in BS or BA program in relevant engineering field: Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical.

    + Track record of success in academics, leadership and other relevant experience

    + Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, engineering drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures

    + Write routine and technical correspondence.

    + Comprehend and apply principles of geometry, trigonometry, modern algebra, statistical theory and other areas of advanced mathematics

    + Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and then recommend viable courses of action

    + Interpret a variety of technical instructions in drawing, mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    + Familiarity with valve types and applications

    + Familiarity with actuator types and applications

    + ERP &/or PLM experience
