Major Duties and Responsibilities

+ Ensure a smooth and timely customs process flow for all customs related activities

+ Daily execution of workflow and department metrics

+ Transfer declaration information from commercial documents, or other sources into our customs entry system

+ Accurate and timely data entry to allow for the build of a complete US Customs declaration

+ Build and maintain strong relationships with the customers and government organizations

+ Guarantee compliance to regulations at all times, both internal and external

+ Track and Trace shipments for valid data transmission to US customs and Partner Government Agencies

+ Understand all elements of the import customs Desk Level Operating Procedure and correctly interpret this information to fulfill our customer´s instructions and expectations

+ Identify and manage exceptions while also identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

+ Seek ways to enhance productivity, KPI’s, process improvements, compliance and customer satisfaction

+ Effectively manage and organize emails for timely follow up

+ Consistently display and promote the company’s 10 cultural attributes: Appearance, Attitude, Confidence, Curiosity, Excellence, Integrity, Pride, Resolute, Sense of Humor, and Visionary

+ Customer Service: 6 months to 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required.  We hire for attitude and train for skill.

+ Understanding of transportation and US Customs documentation is a plus

+ Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results

+ Understanding of the importance of quality customer service and its effect on all facets of a successful business and brand

+ Proactive and organized approach to learning and executing on the job

+ Strong desire to learn

+ Sense of urgency and works well under pressure

+ Immense attention to detail

+ Team player mentality

+ Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote)

+ Able to use the 10-key

+ Fluent in English
