    Job Description

    Summary:

    We are hiring Travel Technicians to work at various locations across the United States. This position requires 100% travel and involves installing low-voltage wiring and equipment such as IP cameras, Wireless Access Points, routers, switches, and more. Candidates should expect to be on the road for 2–8 months at a time.

     

    We are looking for a self-starter who works well with a partner. The Travel Technician will be paired with another technician for the duration of each project, typically working 6 days per week.

    Responsibilities:

    + Pull and terminate low-voltage cable.

    + Install network equipment in commercial environments.

    + Follow instructions and applicable codes when pulling cable.

    + Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling through concrete walls and limited conduit work.

    + Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety standards.

    + Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and inner duct.

    + Test newly installed cable systems and devices to ensure functionality.

    + Troubleshoot cable network issues.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    + Comply with all project safety requirements set by the client, their customers, or OSHA.

    Skills:

    + Low-voltage installation

    + Wireless Access Points (WAP)

    + CCTV installation

    + Cable pulling and termination (Cat5, Cat6)

    + Access control

    + Punch-down and troubleshooting

    + Telecommunication systems

    Requirements:

    + Previous experience as a Data Cable Technician.

    + Willingness and availability for extensive nationwide travel.

    + Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

    + Capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs or more multiple times per shift.

    + Comfortable working in confined spaces.

    + Project hours: 7 PM – 7 AM, 5 days per week.

    + Ability and willingness to travel to Lowell, AR for new hire orientation.

    + Ability to operate a scissor lift and work at heights.

    + Complete work orders and maintain tools provided by the company.

    + Adhere to PPE requirements (hard hat, vest, safety glasses provided; steel-toed boots required).

    + Required tools: hand tools, screwdrivers (standard and Phillips), snips, punch-down tool (impact), toner and probe, pliers, adjustable wrenches, joint pliers, lineman pliers.

    + Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the past 3 years).

    Benefits:

    + Per diem: $125/day for food and lodging.

    + Company vehicle provided (shared with partner).

    This is a Contract position based out of Lowell, AR.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
