About the Role
We’re seeking a strong andexperienced Special Education Teacher to lead an Autism classroomat Vista Peak, an alternative campus serving grades 9–12. This role requires acandidate who is comfortable managing behaviors and committed to creating apositive, structured learning environment.
Key Details
+ Grade Level: High School (9–12)
+ Classroom Type: Autism classroom
+ Caseload: 12 students or fewer
+ Classroom Support: 7 students currently enrolled, supported by 2–3 paraprofessionals
+ Testing: IEP development and implementation
+ Timekeeping System: MaxView
Requirements
+ Certification: ADE SPED License (Alternative Certification NOT approved)
+ Experience: Schools experience preferred; must be comfortable with behavioral support
+ Current CPR (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
