Required Education/Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of engineering work experience in the development and application of technical principles in substation equipment rating, application, specification, engineering, operation, and maintenance.
Preferred Education/Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of engineering work experience in the development and application of technical principles in substation equipment rating, application, specification, engineering, operation, and maintenance.
Relevant Work Experience
+ Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), required.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel on all levels, required.
+ Demonstrated understanding of fundamental engineering design concepts and principles, required.
+ Possess a working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards associated with substation equipment, required.
+ Ability to write specifications and standards and coordinate engineering projects and assignments, preferred.
+ Candidates with a specialization in electrical engineering or power systems are strongly preferred.

+ Effective interpersonal skills
+ Develops and delivers effective presentations
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
Licenses and Certifications
+ Driver's License Required
+ Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred
Physical Demands
+ Ability to respond to system emergencies
+ Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
+ Ability to carry tools and materials when climbing ladders and scaffolds, and entering confined spaces
+ Work in, under, and on top of all types of company vehicles and/or equipment
+ Ability to climb ladders and stairs
+ Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
+ Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
+ Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
Additional Physical Demands
+ The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Must be able to work in and around substations that are under construction and/or in service.
+ Must be available to work additional hours, as needed, for system emergencies or equipment outage schedules.
