As a Design Engineer II with PCB Piezotronics, Inc., you will be the technical expert, applying their education, experience and expertise in the development of new product designs and design improvements.
Additional Duties:
+ Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction” among team members.
+ Evaluates and interprets sensor application requirements and specifications to develop high performance product designs.
+ Researches and develops novel engineering solutions to create completely defined product designs, including precision mechanical components and assembly drawings, electrical circuits and system schematics, product structures, and bills-of-materials.
+ Works cross-functionally with other engineering teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and Quality in the development and implementation of new products and the manufacturing support and improvement of existing products.
+ Develops and executes test protocols to evaluate designs, including functional/operational tests, mechanical property testing, electrical tests, environmental and HALT/stress testing of components, subassemblies, product assemblies, and systems.
+ Analyzes test data and reports to evaluate design performance, determine if test subjects meet functional and performance requirements, and evaluate mechanical and electrical behaviors.
+ Applies engineering principles, including analysis, mathematics, and statistics, to evaluate design and engineering problems involving products and designs.
+ Provides insights into the causal relationships of product design to product & manufacturing performance, application performance, and product cost.
+ Provides technical support in matters of applications, products, materials, equipment and processes.
+ Collaborates with Sales in interfacing with customers to solve and application and sensor design problems or projects.
+ May travel to visit customers, vendors, suppliers, other company locations, affiliates, attend technical meetings, trade shows or conferences.
+ Performs other related tasks and duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Experience:
+ Minimum 4 years of design engineering experience.
+ Precision component and assembly design experience.
+ Electro-mechanical assembly design expertise.
+ Experience with tolerance analysis, sensor design, application knowledge and material/metallurgy properties, selection and processing.
Travel Requirement:
+ Up to 10% as needed.
