This position is responsible for the organization’s marketing; communications; brand reputation management; media and community relations; and employee engagement initiatives. The Manager of Communications and Marketing oversees the public relations/marketing and graphics departments and works closely with department staff to develop, implement and monitor internal and external communications across the multi-channel platform. This position collaborates regularly with organizational leaders, consultants, vendors and agency partners to create marketing campaigns that drive business objectives and shape messaging/positioning related to ongoing operations, strategic initiatives and change management.
This position oversees the creation and placement of earned, owned and paid media, and leads the department’s social media and online reputation management efforts to influence customer service and community perception. This position advises the executive leadership team on crisis communications and other sensitive matters with the potential to impact the organization’s reputation. This position may serve as an organizational spokesperson and works closely with executives to develop messaging and position the organization as experts and leaders in the community. This position represents the organization throughout the community and builds relationships with key external constituents that may include media, elected officials, community leaders, educational institutions, and other influencers. This position cultivates brand storytelling that reinforces the mission, vision, and values as an integrated health system leading effort to support the health and wellness of the community. This position is responsible for the organization’s community benefit sponsorship program. In collaboration with People Services, this position supports the ongoing development and execution of employee recognition events and programs. This position oversees the organization’s internal print production center. This position oversees departmental staffing, budgeting, and financial stewardship reporting.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations and marketing, with a strong background in corporate communications, crisis communications and issues management, and digital communications. Healthcare experience required. Must demonstrate strong writing and verbal communication skills. Must have experience working on a wide variety of tasks simultaneously in a busy office with high public and professional contact. Requires proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, content management software and digital/social platforms.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field required. Master’s degree and/or Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Valid Montana Driver’s license required.
