Description of the College: SUNY Oswego's College of Business and Entrepreneurship has been accredited by AACSB since 2002. Reaccredited in 2023, the College offers undergraduate programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Operations Management and Information Systems, and Risk Management and Insurance and graduate MBA programs in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, and Public Accounting. It also offers several five-year BS/BA+MBA programs. In addition to the strong academic portfolio, COBE also includes the recently developed Center for Business Excellence and Transformation (CBET); CBET's mission is to foster business excellence through innovative learning, industry partnership, and co-curricular programming that drive real-world impact. In addition to Poets & Quants and Princeton review rankings, the MBA online programs were ranked 88 in 2025 U.S. News and World Report, the highest ranked public online MBA program in New York. An undergraduate completion degree in Business Administration and graduate classes are also offered at SUNY Oswego's Syracuse Campus. The College has an active and supportive Advisory Board that meets several times a year and provides guidance and advice. Each major and minor also have a program advisory group consisting of alumni and industry professionals. Students and faculty are engaged in a range of activities such as volunteer income tax assistance, CEO (which sponsors a business start-up competition "Launch it"), the Investment Club that manages a portfolio currently valued over $1 million, and more. Graduates of Oswego's business programs are highly successful with careers ranging from the corporate sector to non-profit and government agencies to entrepreneurial enterprises. Description of Responsibilities: The Dean of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE) is the intellectual and institutional leader of the College, which serves more than 1900 undergraduate and graduate students while leading more than 34 full-time faculty across two departments. The academic programs offered by COBE are some of the largest at SUNY Oswego. COBE is one of four colleges within the Division of Academic Affairs, which also includes the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Engineering; the College of Education, Health, and Human Services; and the College of Communication, Media and the Arts.
The Dean serves as the administrative officer leading the work of the COBE, its programs, faculty and staff. The Dean uses their judgement and experience to set the direction for the College, to recommend priorities for the College, and to allocate resources within the College. The Dean leads the COBE faculty, representing their accomplishments and aspirations and assuring critical information regarding the success of the faculty and students are communicated within and outside of Academic Affairs.
The COBE Dean reports directly to the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs and serves as an important part of the Academic Affairs leadership team, as well as a member of the President's Council. The Dean supports and cultivates the faculty and other resources required for the successful implementation of both existing and future-oriented programs. SUNY Oswego prides itself on its continued ability to innovate and the Dean is expected to deliver creative thinking, foresight, and adaptive management. The Dean will be attentive and committed to faculty and student diversity, shared governance and the increasingly complex and extramural roles. The Dean must work to foster collaboration between COBE and other divisions throughout SUNY Oswego, as well as external constituencies. The Dean will work closely with the Advancement team to solicit and increase external investment in COBE programs, students, and partnerships.
Responsibilities of the COBE Dean include: Strategic leadership to the College, promotion of academic excellence, leading of the College in continued AACSB accreditation, supporting student success and related initiatives, overseeing enrollment and fiscal management of the College, expanding student access, strengthening internal and external partnerships (e.g., industry) that contribute to College as well as the institutional priorities, participating and expanding fundraising, and supporting faculty recruitment, development and retention.

Job Requirements:
Required:
+ A doctoral degree in Business Administration or a closely related field.
+ Maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) or Practice Academic (PA) status as defined by the College
+ Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in higher education administration
Preferred:
+ Demonstrated success in strategic planning, academic program development (including online, hybrid, and/or hyflex modalities), and organizational leadership
+ Proven fundraising experience
+ Demonstrated experience engaging with industry partners and the ability to maintain an active professional network
+ Demonstrated success in fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration to advance business and entrepreneurship education, engaging faculty and units beyond traditional business disciplines to develop shared programs, initiatives, and research opportunities.
+ Experience leading complex change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement with an understanding of technology's impact on the student experience.
+ Demonstrated leadership in supporting the adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, across teaching, research, and service, aligning with Oswego's vision of becoming an AI campus.
+ Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and shared governance
+ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership style
+ Experience with AACSB accreditation
+ Record of faculty and staff development, mentorship, and retention
+ Success in aligning unit/college goals with broader institutional priorities and a regional public university mission
