    The Tool Room Attendant for the Kuwait KC-130J Program is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties to include typing, inventory, and filing. Must have a working knowledge of nomenclature concerning aircraft maintenance tools and support equipment. Assists the maintenance manager with the Implementation of tool control procedures and accountability and assists with maintaining assets in a serviceable condition, to included tracking and managing calibrated items. Has a working knowledge and hands-on experience with office equipment to include PC, calculator, and other business machines necessary in the data collection, entry and reporting processes. Organizes and sets priorities to coordinate work in an efficient manner. Processes, maintains and preserves maintenance data, forms and records.

    Description:

    • Participates, as a member of field team, in formulating and establishing organizational policies and operating procedures for the program.

    • Implements, coordinates, and manages all aspects of tool and specific support equipment administrative support programs.

    • Coordinates with Calibration Lab personnel to facilitate the calibration of all due items, to include expedited services, drop-off, and pick up of gear.

    • Evaluates and develops improved techniques for tracking and monitoring detailed inventory and inspection due dates for all tools utilized within the program.

    • Maintains spreadsheets and tracking logs of tools, specific support equipment, and materials as they are issued and follows up to ensure all items are accounted for and serviceable upon return.

    • Audits, identifies discrepancies, and applies corrective actions to all aspects of the Tool Control Program, to include aircraft tool boxes and tools maintained by various supporting work centers.

    • Coordinates with supporting agencies to obtain required materials, tools, repairs, and services to ensure tool requirements are met.

    • Reviews all reporting requirements to ensure they are accurate, clear, concise and comprehensive prior to release.

    • Requisitions, manages accountability and maintains a 10 percent surplus inventory to ensure replenishment items are available for issue when needed.

    • Use tool control manuals, tool catalogues and parts breakdowns determine material requirements, research associated part numbers, and order parts to meet new requirements or to replace worn / broken assets.

    • Maintains tools and equipment in a ready for issue condition by performing minor repairs, inspections, corrosion prevention, performing operational checks, and periodically checking and maintaining the power levels of battery-operated equipment.

    • Provides technical knowledge in order to comply with all aspects of the Tool Control, Calibration, and Support Equipment Planned Maintenance System Programs.

    • Performs tool inventories as prescribed by program policies and procedures and maintains 100 percent accountability at all times.

    • Maintains and catalogues manufacturer records / documents associated with maintained items.

    • Monitor and track collected data in a manner to assist Maintenance Supervision and Program Management with report and chart preparation.

    • Support off-station maintenance when required.

    • When necessary, perform other duties and supervisory functions, critical to the function of the program and to assure compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

     

    Material & Equipment Directly Used

     

    Must have a working knowledge of maintenance information systems – GOLD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc..).

     

    Working Environment

     

    Environmental conditions are diverse and could range anywhere from an office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes in temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust and wind. On occasion individuals may be required to work in areas where high noise hazards will prevail, and hearing protection is required.

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees are frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and climb on top of aircraft and maintenance platforms. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

    Qualifications

    **Education / Certifications** :

    • High School Diploma

    **Experience** :

    • Four years’ experience in tool room inventory control preferred

    • Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) 4790.2 or equivalent experience with Air Force Instruction 21-101 preferred.

    • Must have a working knowledge of first aid procedures to be used in an emergency.

    • Must have a strong knowledge base of aviation maintenance programs, processes, and procedures (example: Safety, Tool Control, HAZMAT, inspection programs, administrative requirements, support equipment, calibration/torque programs & procedures).

    **Specific Requirements** :

    • Must be United States (U.S.) citizen, be able to read, write, and understand the English language

    • Must be able to obtain a United States Passport. If you currently possess a United States Passport it must have at least 24 months of time remaining before expiration.

    • Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.

    • Must be willing to follow Kuwait Labor Law policies and able to adhere to and comply with all Kuwaiti Labor and Immigration requirements.

    • Must be willing to administrate, maintain, and manage maintenance programs (ex. Tool Control, HAZMAT, FOD, MetCal, etc…) as required by local policies.

    • Must be willing and able to comply with all contractual Performance Work Statement (PWS) Requirements, to include assisting the KC-130J maintenance team during general maintenance evolutions (Towing, Jacking, Aircraft Mission Configuration, Etc…).

    • Must be willing and able to deploy off-site as required to support Kuwait Air Force operations.

    • Must be willing to work flexible hours, to include day shift, night shift or weekend duty and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team as required.

    • Must have the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and follow instructions when directed on assigned tasks.

    • Must have skills and aptitude to cross train and/or support the KC-130J supply technicians in management of daily operations and execution of all tasks in support of the Supply Resource Centre.

    • Must be willing and able to cover for members of the supply team during periods of non-availability, large parts deliveries, or to increase surge capacity.

    • Must ensure required tools and related equipment are serviceable and available to the technicians in-order-to provide mission capable aircraft to the customer to meet operational requirements.

    • Must have an in-depth knowledge of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications—read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications.

    • Must have an in-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.

    • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create/modify briefs, spreadsheets, and formal requests/documentation.

    • Must have a working knowledge of and be proficient with (input and extract data) of computers and maintenance information systems.

    • Must be able to overcome cultural differences and to think outside the box, innovate, and provide solutions to the many complex problems and obstacles associated with international contracting and desert climate operations.

    • Must perform as a team member, contributing to the success of the C-130J maintenance department.

    • Must be dependable and timely in managing assigned tasks, perform consistent quality maintenance.

    • Must have a proven ability to work independently with minimal direction.
