    Job Description

    Insight Global's client, a global leader in electromechanical components, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who combines technical depth with customer-facing skills. You will be responsible for the selection, qualification, and maintenance of electronic and electromechanical components to support product design, manufacturing, and customer applications using electromechanical relays and magnetics/transformer components. This role ensures component compliance, reliability, and cost optimization across the product lifecycle while providing customer-facing technical support.

     

    You will work under general supervision as part of the Engineering department and may provide technical guidance to junior engineers or technicians. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in demand creation—identifying new markets, engaging customers not previously serviced, providing support to existing customers, and driving design wins through technical expertise in power systems and electromechanical switching components.

     

    This is a hybrid position in Vista, California. Candidates should be open to 1-2 days onsite

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Demand Creation & Customer Engagement: Identify new market opportunities, visit customers, and provide technical guidance to support design wins.

     

    - Component Engineering: Select, qualify, and maintain electronic and electromechanical components for product design, manufacturing, and customer applications.

     

    - Design Collaboration: Work with customers to design new products, validate concepts, and move conversations forward.

     

    - Lab Work (≈10%): Perform quick checks and sample evaluations to support customer discussions.

     

    - Compliance & Documentation: Ensure component compliance, reliability, and cost optimization; manage product safety certifications and maintain internal component database.

     

    - Issue Resolution: Resolve customer quality issues using structured methodologies such as 8D problem-solving and Corrective Action Reports (CAR), including dispositioning of RMA material in collaboration with factories.

     

    - Technical Communication: Generate and maintain product documentation, presentations, and collateral; support sales with technical inquiries regarding components or substitutions.

     

    - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

     

    - Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

     

    - Ability to multi-task and balance multiple assignments

     

    - Professional approach utilizing good judgment and creative problem-solving abilities

     

    - Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards.

     

    - Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

     

    - Ability to travel domestically

    Compensation:

    $170,000 to $200,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - BS in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.

     

    - 5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering with customer-facing experience.

     

    - Strong knowledge of power systems, electromechanical switching components, and analogue power design.

     

    - Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints and understand control systems.

     

    - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

     

    - Excellent communication skills—comfortable presenting to panels and collaborating with cross-functional teams. - Experience with electromechanical relays, magnetics, or transformer components.

     

    - Background as a Field Application Engineer or similar customer-facing technical role.

     

    - Familiarity with industrial applications such as EV charging systems, industrial controls, and OEM environments.
