    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Insight Global's plastic molding client is looking for an experience Mechanical Engineer to join their staff in Belcamp, MD.

     

    This role focuses on designing and developing high-tolerance components for specialized respiratory protection systems, including the Breachers Technician Mask project. Responsibilities include creating and updating detailed part drawings, conducting engineering tests such as electrical, temperature, and drop testing, and supporting hands-on assembly work for government SBCA builds. The position involves close collaboration with tooling companies, interpreting technical drawings, and mentoring junior engineers. Additionally, the role requires expertise in small, custom mold design for niche markets, ensuring precision and quality throughout the engineering process.

    Skills and Requirements

    MUST HAVES:

    • 5-7+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

    • 3+ years of experience in injection molding and plastic part design

    • Tooling and design for manufacturing experience

    • Working with tooling companies as main point of contact

    • Proficiency in CAD software for designing

    • Designs for manufacturing studies, mold flow analysis

    Ability to interpret technical drawings PLUSSES:

    • CAD SolidWorks preferred software

    A strong mechanical aptitude
