Job Description:

The Roll-Fed Inkjet / Finishing Operator Coordinator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining roll-fed inkjet printing equipment as well as associated finishing systems. This role ensures high-quality printed output, smooth workflow through unwind/rewind, cutting, folding, inserting, and other finishing processes. The operator maintains production accuracy, resolves equipment issues, and supports a safe, efficient, and high-performing production environment

This position is looking for candidates who have the following experience:

+ **Operating roll-fed inkjet presses or similar high-speed industrial production equipment.**

+ **Hands-on experience with finishing equipment (rewinders, cutters, folders, inserters, etc.).**

+ **Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.**

+ **Ability to interpret job tickets, production specs, and quality standards.**

Essential Functions

Inkjet Press Operation

+ Set up, operate, and monitor roll-fed inkjet printers according to job specifications.

+ Load rolls, set tension, align web path, and maintain proper print registration.

+ Adjust ink, color, and print parameters to ensure quality and consistency.

+ Conduct quality checks throughout production and perform real-time adjustments.

Finishing Equipment Operation

+ Operate finishing systems such as unwinders, rewinders, sheeters, cutters, stackers, folders, inserters, or binding equipment.

+ Set machine parameters based on job requirements and downstream processing needs.

+ Monitor output for defects, alignment issues, and finishing accuracy.

Quality Control

+ Review job tickets to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer specs.

+ Inspect printed and finished products for color accuracy, registration, trim quality, and overall integrity.

+ Document and report any quality issues or material waste.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

+ Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on both inkjet and finishing equipment.

+ Identify mechanical or quality issues and troubleshoot to minimize downtime.

+ Assist maintenance or service technicians during repairs or advanced diagnostics.

Workflow & Documentation

+ Accurately record production data, material consumption, downtime, and job completion in reporting systems.

+ Ensure accurate labeling and staging of printed and finished materials for next steps.

+ Communicate effectively with shift leads and other operators during shift transitions.

Safety & Compliance

+ Follow all safety protocols for press operation, machinery guarding, and material handling.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.

+ Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or near misses promptly.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Demonstrated experience and expertise working with printers and finishing equipment

+ Knowledge of pre-flight requirements for printing

Preferred Qualifications

+ Three years of print production experience

+ Experience with machines from Canon, Ricoh, Screen, HP, Xerox, Tecnau, CP Bourg, etc.

+ Knowledge of color management, print quality processes, and finishing workflows.

+ Previous experience in a high-volume print or manufacturing environment.

+ Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.

+ Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors require the employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.

+ Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
