    Position Summary:

    When you join Babcock Power, you will be part of a team that innovates and designs sustainable solutions in the power generation industry. Our goal is to extend the life and improve the performance of existing boilers. To support this goal, our manufacturing site, Boiler Tube of America, (BTA) manufactures replacement pressure boiler components and auxiliary industrial boiler parts for boilers. We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector for our manufacturing site in Lyman, SC.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    The Quality Inspector ensures that all products and materials meet company and regulatory standards before they reach the consumer. The role involves examining and testing products during different stages of production and making decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of products based on set specifications. Essential Responsibilities:

     

    + Perform assigned tests on materials, goods in process, or finished goods where results are compared with Company quality standards.

    + Perform non-destructive examination using various NDE methods.

    + Perform detailed dimensional inspection using various tools and gauges.

    + Notifies supervisor when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are noted.

    + Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.

    + Makes recommendation on disposition of questionable product to supervisor.

    Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

    + High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical training or certification is a plus).

    + Prior experience in manufacturing or quality inspection role.

    + Knowledge of quality control standards (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, etc.).

    + Familiarity with inspection tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

    + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

    + Basic computer skills for documenting inspections and test results.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
