    Cleveland Clinic Children's Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry offers a comprehensive spectrum of mental health services for children from infancy through adolescence. Our pediatric psychiatric services are designed to meet the needs of children, adolescents and their families in times of adjustment or crisis. As an Art Therapist, you will use art media, images and the creative process to assist patients with social, psychological and physical challenges. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive plan of care and apply your expertise to help patients develop coping skills, express themselves in alternative ways, increase socialization, enhance sensorimotor coordination and problem-solving abilities, reduce problematic behaviors and improve treatment compliance.

     

    A caregiver in this role works a day/evening rotation from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Use art media, images and the creative art process to assist patients with social, psychological and physical difficulties.

    + Work with the interdisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive plan of care for the patient.

    + Use expertise to assist patients in a variety of areas.

    + Provide group and individual art therapy sessions to patients on various units within the main campus hospital.

    + Evaluate patient's treatment needs, abilities and resources.

    + Maintain confidentiality of patients, staff and hospital respecting patients' rights and dignity.

    + Complete routine paperwork within prescribed time frames and accurately document all pertinent and meaningful observations and information on appropriate forms.

    + Attend and participate in designated plans for care team meetings concerning the patient and family, as appropriate.

    + Adhere to general expectations for all employees in order that the program functions in an effective manner to meet the treatment needs of the patient.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Master's Degree in Art Therapy from a College or University Program accredited by the American Art Therapy Association (AATA)

    + Licensed Professional Art Therapist (LPAT) through the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board

    + Registered Art Therapist with Board Certification (ATR-BC) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board with LPAT obtained within the first 90 days of hire

    + Maintain de-escalation training, WELLE certification obtained within the first 90 days of hire

    + Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via American Heart Association certification training obtained within the first 90 days of hire

    + One year of experience in Art Therapy services in an inpatient hospital setting

    + Consideration will be made for time spent in practicum

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Niche art, music, OT experience

    Physical Requirements:

    + Standing and walking more than 80% of time.

    + Sitting less than 20% of the time.

    + Hand and finger dexterity, reaching with arms and hands more than 75% of the time.

    + Close vision and depth perception more than 50% of the time.

    + Hearing and talking more than 80% of the time.

    + Lifting over 100 pounds (with assistance), frequently pushing and pulling less than 25% of the time.

    + Exposure to Communicable diseases.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

     

    Pay Range

     

    Minimum Annual Salary: $43,200.00

     

    Maximum Annual Salary: $65,880.00

     

    The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
