    Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is looking for a **Primary Care Business Services/Referrals Specialist** join our **Endocrinology** team located Waterbury.

     

    The **Primary Care Business Services/Referrals Specialist** functions in a supportive role in the healthcare team to facilitate the patient flow in the practice. Responsible for performing all business functions including greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, patient registration, insurance verification, copay and point of service collections, pre-certifications, prior authorizations, referrals, chart prep, managing incoming and outgoing faxes and providing clerical support to the providers and staff. Plays a critical role in checkout functions and is responsible for scheduling specialty referral appointments.

    What you will do:

    + Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.

    + Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.

    + Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity. Anticipates conflicts in the provider schedules templates, notifies provider of any scheduling conflicts and recommends alternatives.

    + Responsible for taking the lead in complex scheduling specialty referral appointments at checkout. Able to understand and schedule referral appointments across all specialties within THOfNE Medical Group.

    + May schedule hospital admissions, operating room procedures, outpatient invasive and non-invasive procedures,

    + Documents appropriate and accurate information in the patient’s medical record by generating clear, concise, complete, and professional messages.

    + Reconciles cash draw and balances monies at the end of day.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. College coursework in secretarial or medical sciences preferred.

    + Minimum of two (2) years of experience within a medical office or billing department required.

    + Previous scheduling experience with Epic EMR system strongly preferred. Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred.

    + Experience in customer-facing role preferred. Knowledge of customer service standards preferred.

    + Excellent communication and computer skills required
