On-the-Job Nail Technician Instructor
Status: Part-Time
Hours: Every other Tuesday; Wednesdays; every other Saturday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (The hours on Tuesday and Wednesday will switch between daytime and evening hours every 3 months.)
Pay/Salary: $19.91/Hour

As an On-the-Job Nail Technician Instructor, you play a vital role in shaping the next generation of skilled professionals. Under the guidance of the Director of Programs and Program Coordinator, you will learn how to lead engaging instruction, support student development, and ensure the curriculum remains current and relevant. This position combines your technical expertise and passion for teaching to make a lasting difference in students' lives. Through your guidance, students will gain the knowledge, confidence, and credentials needed to launch successful careers in the beauty industry.

What You'll Do:
As an On-the-Job Nail Technician Instructor, your contributions directly impact student success and program excellence. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Learns how to teach high-quality, hands-on instruction that promotes student learning and industry readiness.
+ Learns how to supervise students.
+ Learns the program curriculum and pass-offs with the Senior Program Coordinator.
+ Maintains a student-oriented approach and desirable classroom conditions. Check equipment daily for hazards, ensuring it is maintained and repaired as needed.
+ Completes Milady's Instructor training/learning motivation, preparation, teaching methods, and classroom management.
+ Understands the laws, rules, and regulations for Nail Technicians in the State of Utah.
+ Learns how to maintain accurate and current reports and records regarding student accountability, attendance, and performance.
+ Maintains a clean environment and helps check the building before closing at night.
+ Follows and enforces all rules of the program and MTECH.
+ Learns how to maintain accurate rolls, grades, course sign-offs, attendance, and report information in Canvas and North Star.
+ Learn how to market and recruit for the program through exceptional teaching, contact with high schools and industry, and participation in job fairs and community events.
+ Must complete at least 150 hours in the first year and test to obtain an instructor license.
+ Complete 150 hours of on-the-job training followed by a pay increase and an additional 150 hours of internship.
+ Meet with the Program Coordinator and have regular evaluations for on-the-job training.
+ Learn methods of student testing and carry out quizzes and other evaluations.
What We're Looking For:
+ Education Requirements: A high school diploma or its equivalent. Graduation from an accredited Cosmetology School, Nail School, or Apprenticeship.
+ Experience: A minimum of six months of industry experience is required.
+ License: A valid Utah State Nail Technician license.
+ Professional Development: Commitment to staying current with industry trends and earning and maintaining relevant certifications.
