Job Title: Installation Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Installation Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for installing pre-made and pre-assembled truck equipment for municipal fleets, government vehicles, and commercial clients. Additionally, you will perform repairs and service work exclusively on equipment originally installed by our team. This role is hands-on, requiring mechanical aptitude, tool proficiency, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

+ Install pre-assembled truck bodies, lift gates, van interiors, dump bodies, snow removal equipment, and other specialty equipment.

+ Perform hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical connections to ensure proper functionality.

+ Conduct repairs and adjustments on equipment installed by our team.

+ Read and interpret work orders, technical manuals, and installation instructions.

+ Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and client specifications.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with truck equipment installation or mechanical repair is strongly desired.

+ Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and specialty equipment.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

+ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions.

+ Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with installation and assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.

+ Familiarity with using measuring and marking tools like tape measures, calipers, and levels.

+ Capability to use cutting and welding tools, although training will be provided.

Work Environment

The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work in a physically demanding setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portsmouth, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
