Job Title: Installation Technician

Job Description

This position involves the layout, wiring, and mounting of hydraulics, electronics, and PTOs on custom truck bodies. You will set up and operate machines to cut, bend, saw, and punch steel into custom parts needed for body mounting. Proficiency with overhead chain hoists, forklifts, handcarts, and various hand and power tools is essential.

Responsibilities

+ Layout, wire, and mount hydraulics, electronics, and PTOs on custom truck bodies.

+ Set up and operate machines for cutting, bending, sawing, and punching steel.

+ Use overhead chain hoists, forklifts, handcarts, and hand and power tools effectively.

+ Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and other measuring devices accurately.

+ Troubleshoot and problem-solve during the installation process.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum six months of experience with heavy installation, preferably on vehicles.

+ Basic understanding of hydraulics, PTO, frames, pumps, electrical controls, and wiring.

+ Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and measuring devices like tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.

+ Proficient in using hand and power tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.

+ Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, twisting, and climbing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with hand plasma and wire feed welding is preferred.

+ Basic math skills for machine setup and accurate measurements.

+ Ability to stand on concrete floors while wearing steel-toed shoes throughout the shift.

Work Environment

The position is located on a large open factory floor with dim lighting due to welding stations. The environment includes large overhead cranes, good ventilation, and exposure to grease, oil, heat, humidity, and occasionally wet conditions. The role requires meeting physical requirements such as climbing ladders and using creepers under chassis in a heavy industrial atmosphere.

This is a Contract position based out of LAKE CRYSTAL, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
