    Job Title: Quality Inspector

    Job Description

    Under the direction of the Quality Supervisor, you will perform a variety of duties to ensure that both internally manufactured products and those provided by suppliers meet overall quality standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Support the Quality Department in operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) in accordance with established quality procedures.

    + Perform daily assigned tasks independently, following the FIFO method (First in – First Out), unless otherwise instructed by the Quality Supervisor.

    + Thoroughly scan, validate, and document serial numbers of products electronically in accordance with established procedures.

    + Perform visual inspections on products and document defect conditions.

    + Maintain documented inspection pass/fail data to support quality metric reports.

    + Communicate any quality issues arising during visual or CMM inspections to the Quality Supervisor in a timely manner.

    + Reject unacceptable materials and process them according to established quality procedures.

    + Create a Material Review Board (MRB) for non-conforming materials.

    + Sort, segregate, and identify non-conforming materials.

    + Isolate dispositioned scrap material and document for further processing and destruction according to established quality procedures.

    + Proficiently use the ERP System.

    + Meet Quality Department’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

    + Maintain a 5S work environment.

    + Comply with all safety regulations and company procedures.

    + Follow instructions and be detail-oriented.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Must be at least 18 years of age.

    + High School diploma or equivalent education.

    + Ability to work well within a team and individually.

    + Understand and interpret visual criteria acceptance.

    + Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

    + Effective communication skills with all members of the organization, verbally, nonverbally, and in writing.

    + Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office.

    Work Environment

     

    The position operates in a manufacturing environment, requiring adherence to safety regulations and company procedures. You will utilize technologies such as Coordinate Measuring Machines and ERP systems, and maintain a 5S work environment. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Haven, CT.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
