Job Title: 2nd Shift Haven Operator

Job Description

The Haven Operator is responsible for the safe operation of all forklifts and Haven equipment, as well as other assigned duties related to the Haven. The role involves setting up, troubleshooting equipment, supplying materials for recut, and understanding the entire Haven operation.

Responsibilities

+ Perform duties in accordance with company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions.

+ Coordinate with internal and external departments as necessary.

+ Perform setups, operational checks, and complete visual inspections of recut and swage.

+ Monitor product quality and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

+ Train other employees as assigned by the Supervisor.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

+ Make minor maintenance adjustments to machines with proper training and instruction from the Supervisor.

Essential Skills

+ Packaging

+ Forklift operation

+ Material handling

+ Machine operation

+ Ability to lift 60 lbs

+ Experience with forklift, pallet jack, sit down forklift, loading, and hand tools

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ Experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics roles.

+ Forklift certification preferred.

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

+ Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in the East Building on the 1st Shift from 3pm-11pm. The work environment is industrial and fast-paced, located in a large steel manufacturing facility. The area is busy with forklifts, cranes, and trucks, especially during peak production or large customer orders. The physical conditions can be cold and drafty in winter, with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy materials, necessitating proper PPE like steel-toe boots, gloves, and safety glasses. Common equipment includes forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks. Safety protocols are strictly enforced, requiring extra vigilance in high traffic and heavy load areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochelle, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.25 - $19.25/hr.
