    Department Support Assistant - Nursing Administration

     

    St. John's Regional Medical Center

     

    We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Department Support Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Department Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support and facilitating smooth operations within our department. If you have exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting teams, this position may be a perfect fit for you.

     

    + Maintains staffing and other department records.

    + Initiates/updates/deletes personnel files for Supervisors as requested.

    + Tracks Leave of Absences.

    + Maintains turnover report (monthly).

    + Verify registry personnel (hours and unit worked).

    + Initiate calls and confirms registry staff personnel, as indicated or requested.

    + Directs inquiries and telephone calls to appropriate department/individual.

    + Coordinates staffing for inpatient areas, using matrix guidelines and input from Unit Supervisor/Director.

    + Demonstrates ability to interface with all departments to assist them with needed information.

    + Performs clerical functions for the department.

    + Supports the Nursing Director(s)/Shift Administrator(s)/Unit Supervisor(s) with routine procedures, such as filing, mail distribution, typing correspondence and other tasks as requested.

    Job Requirements

    + A minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of varied clerical experience

    + High school education or equivalent

    Special Skills:

    + Maintains confidentiality of issues as necessary.

    + Excellent communication skills and maintains effective public relations with departmental clientele.

    + Ability to be an effective team member.

    + A thorough knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation.

    + Good interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to use a variety of office equipment, FAX, telephones, copy machines, computer, typewriter, etc.

    + A thorough knowledge of department organization, policies and procedures as well as a general knowledge of the Medical Center's structure.

    + Establish and maintain clerical procedures and standards.

    + Work independently and perform a variety of assignments.1030

    Pay Range

    $24.00 - $31.52 /hour
