Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to perform ongoing repairs and maintenance on mechanical systems such as heat pumps, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, condensing units, and backup generators. This role involves general carpentry skills to maintain residential apartments, including drywall and ceiling repair, painting, caulking, floor and tile repair, and basic appliance troubleshooting. You will be responsible for keeping accurate logs of preventative maintenance on all equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Perform ongoing repairs and maintenance to mechanical systems including heat pumps, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, condensing units, and backup generators.

+ Conduct general carpentry tasks such as drywall repair/replacement, ceiling repair, painting, caulking, floor repair, and tile repair.

+ Perform basic appliance troubleshooting.

+ Maintain accurate logs of preventative maintenance on all pieces of equipment.

+ Conduct plumbing tasks around the facility, including repairing water leaks.

+ Perform light electrical repairs such as fixing switches, outlets, and changing light bulbs.

+ Coordinate with vendors for larger repairs as needed.

+ Clean up the exterior of the facility as required.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with HVAC systems.

+ Proficiency in plumbing tasks.

+ Facilities and building maintenance expertise.

+ Boiler maintenance skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in facilities maintenance.

This position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for overtime. You will work autonomously and receive mileage reimbursement.

Work Environment

You will help maintain 7-8 properties, all within a 30-minute radius. The shift is Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm. Once fully integrated, you will join an on-call rotation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Syracuse, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
