    Job Title: Ground Support Equipment Mechanic

    Job Description

    We are seeking dedicated Diesel Mechanics to join our team and work on a fleet of De-Icing trucks, service vehicles, machinery, and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in hydraulics and be comfortable reading electrical schematics. This role requires the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, identify issues with hydraulic systems, and efficiently disassemble and repair hydraulic pumps, motors, and related components.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform repairs and maintenance on de-icing trucks, service vehicles, and other machinery/equipment.

    + Execute preventative maintenance programs on the fleet, service vehicles, and automobiles, including estimating initial repair costs and completing necessary documentation and reports such as purchase orders.

    + Inspect, diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair gas and diesel-powered trucks, automobiles, and other power equipment.

    + Conduct general overhaul, installation, repair, replacement, and adjustment of various vehicle components including bearings, ignitions, carburetors, transmissions, differentials, axles, steering mechanisms, drive shafts, fenders, radiators, and suspension systems.

    + Maintain a variety of records, including vehicle identification, date, mileage, and nature of each inspection, maintenance, lubrication, and repairs performed.

    + Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in diesel mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

    + Proficiency with ground support equipment and de-icing trucks.

    + Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronics, and hydraulic systems.

    + Experience with blueprint reading and engine repairs.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 2 to 5 years of experience in repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks.

    + Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technical, Automotive, or Agricultural certification.

    + Experience with Freightliner, Mercedes, and/or Volvo equipment is an asset.

    + Proficiency in office software, diagnostic tools, and other computer skills is an asset.

    + Valid driver's license.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC).

    + Strong team player with the ability to work independently while following procedures and safety protocols.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.
