Job Title: Bagging Operator

Job Description

This position involves working in an exclusive ramp environment where the primary responsibility is to ensure the continuous operation of automated machinery for bagging products. The work environment is both indoor and outdoor, and candidates should be prepared for a cold facility. Protective clothing such as coats, gloves, and hats will be provided over time. The role includes hanging bags on machinery, sealing, palletizing, and transporting them outside for shipping. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted and maintaining cleanliness to prevent product damage to the facility.

Responsibilities

+ Hang bags on automated machinery lines for product filling.

+ Ensure bags are sealed and sent down the line.

+ Oversee the robot palletizing process and operation of pallet wrapping machines.

+ Add and track paperwork for each full load.

+ Transport pallets outside and load them onto trucks.

+ Lift up to 50 lbs if manual runs are required.

+ Maintain continuous operation of machinery.

+ Clean up areas to prevent product damage to cement surfaces.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in production, general production, shipping, and receiving.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

+ Willingness to work Saturday overtime as needed.

+ Must wear steel-toed shoes and stand for full shifts.

+ Forklift, fork truck, and reach truck experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in agriculture or landscaping is beneficial.

+ Experience using a respirator.

+ Ability to work in non-climate controlled, dusty environments.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a large industrial complex with over 200 employees. The specific business unit has about 80 team members. Seasonal ramp-ups are necessary for fertilizer bagging and storage. Training includes a paid two-hour safety orientation. Breaks consist of two 15-minute intervals and a 30-minute lunch, with options to go off-site.

This is a Contract position based out of Maumee, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
