Job Title:** **Mechanical Assembler

Overview

Join our team as a Mechanical Assembler** , contributing to either Sub-Assembly or General Assembly operations. In this role, you’ll develop hands-on skills working with metal brackets, hand and power tools, and caulking equipment to ensure high-quality window unit assembly. Your attention to detail will be critical for inspecting components and maintaining manufacturing standards. **Construction and automotive experience is highly beneficial for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

+ Install metal brackets and use hand/power tools to attach fasteners, clips, and other hardware to window units.

+ Apply caulking to seal gaps and verify seal integrity for optimal window performance.

+ Paint material ends and work with insulation (non-fiberglass).

+ Wrap netting around finished units and perform quality checks throughout the process.

+ Safely handle large glass panes and sheet metal while standing and walking for extended periods.

+ Retrieve materials from the yard and conduct unit testing in designated booths as required.

Essential Qualifications

+ Minimum 3 years in a mechanical role.

+ Experience in mechanical assembly, blueprint reading, fabrication, fitting, and installation.

+ Proficiency with hand and power tools.

+ 1–2 years of construction experience in a mechanical setting.

+ **Prior experience in construction or automotive work is a strong plus.**

Preferred Skills

+ Strong mechanical aptitude; basic computer skills are a plus.

+ Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.

+ Familiarity with large-unit assembly processes.

+ Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and openness to feedback.

+ Standard shift: **7:00 AM – 3:30 PM** , with mandatory overtime as needed to meet production goals.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
