Job Title: Filler Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Filler Operator to join our B team with a 4pm-4am, 2/2/3 schedule. The machine operator will be responsible for operating filling and packaging equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

+ Operate filling and packaging equipment, completing daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks.

+ Adjust and align primary functions of the machinery as needed.

+ Make minor mechanical repairs and replace certain defective parts.

+ Set up jobs on machines by feeding containers onto conveyor line and inputting product information into computer systems.

+ Conduct quality audits on filled products to ensure compliance with fill line standards.

+ Assist in packing and production at the end of each line as required.

+ Stop machines and perform clean in place (CIP) procedures, which may involve getting wet.

+ Maintain compliance with all GMP and HACCP/FDA regulations for goods manufacturing, daily production records, and quality reports.

+ Assist in the training of production assistants, focusing on GMP and safety rules.

Essential Skills

+ Experience as a Machine Operator, Packaging Operator, Filler Operator, or Production Line Operator.

+ Knowledge in Food Manufacturing, GMP, HACCP regulations.

+ Experience with food processing machines and hand tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ At least 3 years of recent experience in a mechanical role such as diesel mechanic, automotive mechanic, mechanical assembler, or maintenance.

+ Ability to train individuals with hand tool experience, good work history, and attention to detail.

+ Prior experience in food manufacturing or machine operating is preferred.

Work Environment

This position is located in the loudest part of the facility, requiring hearing protection due to the close proximity of food processing platforms. The area can become warm in summer due to machinery operation with minimal climate control. It has a strong aroma from sauce-based food products including mustard, barbecue sauce, and various dressings. Training is flexible, occurring Monday-Friday on shifts that best accommodate the contractor, with orientation every Tuesday at 10 am lasting about three days.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chambersburg, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.48 - $22.48/hr.
