Job Title: Tool & Die Apprentice
Job Description
We are seeking a Tool & Die Apprentice for 2nd and Weekend day shifts. The role involves planning, laying out, and performing bench and machine operations to build, service, repair, and maintain tools, dies, and fixtures. You will work with equipment such as surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, belt sanders, saws, hoists, clamps, measuring tools, and forklifts. The environment includes stamping and roll forming, with dies weighing up to 8,000 pounds. A new CNC automated and robotic line is being installed, featuring several CNC Haas Mills. This is a great opportunity to advance your Machinist experience.
Responsibilities
+ Plan, lay out, and perform bench and machine operations to build, service, repair, and maintain tools, dies, and fixtures.
+ Utilize equipment such as surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, belt sanders, saws, hoists, clamps, and measuring tools.
+ Work with dies weighing up to 8,000 pounds in a stamping and roll forming environment.
+ Use CNC Mills and Haas Mills to improve production efficiency.
+ Read and interpret blueprints to check parts with up to 100 dimensions.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of CNC Machinist experience with Mills and Lathes.
+ 4+ years of setup, change outs, offsets, and operation of CNC Milling machinery.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
+ Experience using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
+ Experience working with tight tolerances up to +/- .005.
+ Understanding of G & M codes for tooling changes and offset adjustments.
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Work Environment
The facility is very large, bright, clean, and organized, though loud in areas where stamping equipment is located. It includes a massive Maintenance and Tool & Die shop.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middlebury, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
