    Job Title: Aircraft Seat Mechanic

    Job Description

    Provide technical support for aircraft pilot seats by performing repairs and replacements of mechanical, electrical, and upholstery components. This involves using hand and occasionally power tools, following computerized component maintenance manuals, and occasionally traveling to aircraft factories in North Charleston for installations, removals, or troubleshooting. You will also interact with customers and home office engineering staff via phone and email to resolve issues and complete repairs.

    Responsibilities

    + Repair aircraft pilot seats by removing and replacing various components.

    + Use hand and power tools to perform maintenance as per manuals.

    + Travel to aircraft factories for installations, removals, or troubleshooting as needed.

    + Interface with customers and engineering staff to fix problems and complete repairs.

    + Perform documentation, paperwork, and basic SAP usage, tracking work in Excel.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with hand tools for repair or assembly of mechanical components.

    + Ability to read blueprints and instructions.

    + Demonstrated ability to learn new processes and procedures, including documentation and computer use.

    Work Environment

     

    Work as part of a small, close-knit team of two Service Technicians providing in-house and on-site technical support for sophisticated pilot seats for commercial aircraft. The main facility is in North Charleston with large space for seat storage, parts inventory, and work areas. Occasionally, work on-site at the North Charleston Boeing factory, using a company van. The schedule is typically 6:30 am - 2:30 pm, with some flexibility and rare on-call weekends. Training and mentorship are provided by a senior technician.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
