Mechanical Assembly Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Mechanical Assembly Technician, where you will play a critical role in performing installations and repairs on service vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. You will be responsible for utilizing personal hand tools and power tools, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

+ Document all work performed using appropriate software tools, including Microsoft Planner for tracking work orders from start to finish.

+ Perform preventative maintenance and installations on company-owned and customer service vehicles, including hitch trailers and work trucks.

+ Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance.

+ Utilize personal hand tools and power tools to complete repair and installation tasks efficiently.

+ Maintain a clean, organized work area while continuously seeking improvements in workflow and safety practices.

+ Inspect components to maximize parts reuse and minimize overall repair costs.

+ Monitor job expenses against repair estimates and proactively notify the supervisor of any potential cost overruns before job completion.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Planner and Teams.

+ Experience with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly.

+ Strong skills in hydraulics, welding, electrical assembly, and repair.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Experience with motor repairs is beneficial.

Work Environment

The work environment is a non-climate-controlled but very clean and organized open garage shop. No tobacco products, including nicotine pouches and vapes, are allowed on site. Personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes and safety glasses are provided, and company uniforms are required. The physical demands of the role include climbing ladders to perform installations or services on company trucks. You will be part of a tight-knit team of up to 10 employees on site, including office personnel.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Concord, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
