Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
This role involves coordinating the operational aspects of packaging lines, including changeovers, quality issues, documentation, and distribution of resources. The Machine Operator will work in collaboration with supervisors as needed, projecting teamwork and positive energy to the assigned crew. Duties include mechanical set-up and adjustments to various packaging equipment, ensuring batches are packaged and labeled in accordance with SOP and batch record instructions, and following all safety policies.
Responsibilities
+ Set-up, adjust, and operate equipment such as labelers, Domino Inkjet Printers, Wolke printers, shrink-wrap machines, Tex-Wrap machine, STS heat wrapping machine, tape machines, shipper labelers, etc.
+ Manage multiple labelers within the packaging department.
+ Perform and document critical steps of packaging operations such as line clearance, label verification, product count, and final finished goods verification.
+ Enter serialization orders in the computer system.
+ Label and package products according to packaging batch record instructions, assessing quality and designating components for rework or rejection if needed.
+ Perform labeling accountability calculations on batch records.
+ Maintain complete, legible, and accurate documentation.
+ Load vials on turntables, assemble print blocks, stack products, wrap and move pallets of packed products, place inserts into trays/cartons, manually load vials into trays, etc.
+ Keep work area and machinery clean, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
+ Comply with all safety policies and procedures, utilizing all safety devices.
+ Report any unsafe work practices or injuries.
+ Never abuse equipment.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ 1-3 years of related experience in a regulated, cGMP facility, preferably in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing.
+ Basic math skills for required calculations (multiplication/division).
+ Good written and oral communication skills.
+ Strong mechanical skills preferred.
+ Good computer problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Manufacturing experience is preferred.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
Work in a regulated, cGMP facility with a focus on safety and compliance. The role requires lifting up to 40 lbs, using PPE, and ensuring cleanliness and safety in the work area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MELROSE PARK, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
