Job Descriptions:
New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is currently seeking Full-Time 32 HR/ 4 day a week Clinic Educator. The Clinical Educator (CE) works collaboratively with the Nurse Directors to ensure clinical staff have the knowledge and skills needed to provide quality patient care. The CE is responsible for the assessment of education needs and the coordination and implementation of staff development at NECS. The CE fosters lifelong learning for the clinical staff. The CE develops and manages nursing and medical assistant staff new orientation onboarding as well as annual competency requirements. The CE assists policy owners with the development of policy and procedure related to patient care and healthcare process. Participates on departmental workgroups and committees to provide clinical input and expertise. The role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaborative practice, excellent communication skills, ability to serve as a change agent, and an understanding of the principles and practices of clinical care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Acts as a resource for clinical policies and procedures, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements.
+ Serves as an educational resource to clinical staff.
+ Assess, plan, develop, implement, evaluate and revise education programs to meet the needs of clinical staff, or to comply with federal, state, regulatory, organizational policy.
+ Participates in continuing education activities to coordinate and research to obtain expert speakers or content, in conjunction with Nursing Leadership.
+ Demonstrates professional leadership in nursing practice, concepts, principles and interventions.
+ Uses specialty professional organization, guidelines, and resources to meet educational needs of the clinical staff. Assures competency assessment and validation aligns to NECS policy.
+ Develops strategies and processes to support educational needs.
+ Coordinates with Clinic Director, Nursing Supervisors, and Preceptors to provide orientation to new and transferred staff.
+ Develops and coaches staff in their roles as preceptors for new employees.
Travel: All NECS Location on a regular basis
Required Experience:
+ Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.
+ Baccalaureate degree in nursing required. Masters degree in nursing education is preferred (Pursue to attain is encouraged for BSN)
+ Certification in Nursing is required. Oncology Nursing Certification from ONCC (OCN or other) is preferred.
+ Certification for Nurse Educator is preferred
+ Minimum 2-years oncology experience required, 3-5 years oncology experience preferred.
+ Current BLS certification.
+ Current ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy card is required
