Description We are looking for a skilled Billing Clerk to join our team in Newark, New Jersey. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in managing and processing billing documentation for various construction projects. This opportunity is ideal for detail-oriented professionals seeking to contribute to accurate financial reporting and efficient cash flow management.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit monthly payment applications using G702/G703 forms for construction projects.
• Review contracts to identify billing terms, retainage requirements, and necessary supporting documents.
• Update and maintain schedules of values, percent-complete reporting, and stored materials information.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate billing and inclusion of all approved change orders.
• Monitor accounts receivable and coordinate with general contractors to resolve outstanding payments.
• Generate and manage conditional and unconditional lien waivers, W-9 forms, certified payrolls, and other compliance documentation.
• Submit billing packets through platforms such as Procore, Textura, GCPay, and other contractor-specific systems.
• Organize and maintain digital records related to billing, compliance documents, and correspondence.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of all billing-related materials to maintain project cash flow. Requirements
• At least 3 years of AIA billing experience with a construction subcontractor.
• Comprehensive knowledge of G702/G703 forms, retainage, change orders, and stored materials.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
• Proficiency in accounting or billing software, such as Sage.
• Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with construction billing portals like Procore, Textura, and GCPay.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and communication skills.
• Experience navigating compliance requirements, including lien waivers and certified payroll documentation.
