    Description

    We are looking for a dedicated and organized Part-Time Office Manager to join our team in Gastonia, North Carolina. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to play a vital role in managing the daily operations of a non-profit organization while ensuring smooth administrative and financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in office management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a flexible schedule. This role will start out at 24 hours a week, Monday-Thursday, flexible within the hours of 8am-5pm.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee day-to-day administrative tasks, including organizing church records and managing office supplies.

    • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate processing of invoices and timely payments.

    • Manage full-cycle payroll for employees, including part-time and permanent staff.

    • Coordinate and maintain the church calendar, scheduling events and communicating updates to relevant committees.

    • Prepare and distribute weekly newsletters and bulletins, gathering information from staff and parishioners.

    • Facilitate mass communication efforts, including email campaigns and call systems for important updates.

    • Manage financial records, including month-end close processes and budget balancing.

    • Assist with scheduling reservations for weekly meals and handle logistics for church events.

    • Collaborate with the finance team to organize tithes and donations, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.

    • Support outreach efforts by maintaining communication with parishioners and addressing their inquiries.

     

    Requirements • Proven experience in office management or administrative roles, preferably in a non-profit setting.

     

    • Proficiency in financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll management.

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage calendars and schedules effectively.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating newsletters and handling mass communications.

    • Familiarity with software such as PowerChurch and Microsoft Excel for data entry and financial tracking.

    • Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule, including variable hours depending on seasonal needs.

    • Detail-oriented approach to managing records, donations, and event planning.

    • Experience in outreach and building positive relationships with community members.
