Job Description
The Senior Lease Accountant will manage lease agreements and related financial data, including rent schedules, deferred rent, and prepaid rent. This role involves collaboration with the facilities team to ensure accurate lease documentation and compliance. The position requires communication with landlords regarding lease terms, payments, and adjustments, as well as the preparation and processing of lease-related accounting entries in accordance with ASC 842 standards. Maintaining accurate records of lease obligations and ensuring timely reporting is essential. The role also supports month-end and year-end processes related to lease accounting and requires identifying and implementing process improvements for lease accounting workflows.
Responsibilities
+ Manage lease agreements and related financial data.
+ Collaborate with the facilities team for accurate lease documentation.
+ Communicate with landlords about lease terms, payments, and adjustments.
+ Prepare and process accounting entries as per ASC 842 standards.
+ Maintain accurate records of lease obligations and ensure timely reporting.
+ Support month-end and year-end processes related to lease accounting.
+ Identify and implement process improvements for lease accounting workflows.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in property management and general ledger.
+ Strong accounting skills, including lease accounting.
+ Expertise in Excel, specifically with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
+ Knowledge of GAAP and month-end reconciliation processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (Associate’s degree acceptable with strong experience).
+ 2+ years of accounting experience (lease accounting experience is a plus but not required).
+ Familiarity with Workday preferred but not required.
Work Environment
The position is located off of 394/ Hopkins Crossroad and requires being in the office only 2 days a week (Wednesdays and one other day of choice). The work schedule is flexible, with start and stop times adjustable to align with traffic patterns. The accounting team consists of 3 people, within a broader accounting group of 15. The manager is approachable, easy to communicate with, and supportive of the team's needs. The role offers hybrid flexibility, allowing for a balance of in-office and remote work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopkins, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
