The pay range is $92,000.00 - $166,000.00

As a Lead Associate Creative Director, Brand Design Lab, you will lead the creative direction for owned brand identities and packaging while working collaboratively with internal and external creative teams and various internal owned brand partners. Target Creative’s Brand Design Lab collaborates with owned brand management, packaging and product development teams to create differentiated owned brands across various categories to deliver on business strategies. The Brand Design Lab brings creative solutions to punctuate and elevate our owned brands through distinct brand identities, packaging design, messaging, typography, photography and illustration.
You will articulate Target’s brand (voice and culture) to infuse the work with an unmistakable Target approach, seamlessly integrating a multicultural lens. You provide the creative vision to guide and inspire internal and external creative teams/agencies to innovate, concept and execute creative solutions and challenge conventional thinking to meet and exceed business and marketing objectives. Multi-tasking and collaborating with partners across creative and marketing disciplines, you are responsible for providing clear, actionable and timely feedback and meeting project deadlines. You confidently lead the work and leverage your influence to build trust, align stakeholders, and sell in creative concepts across the organization.
You will need to demonstrate excellent taste level and experience in graphic design, typography, systems thinking and photo/art direction. Critical to this role is staying current with retail trends and experiences, developing competent base knowledge of categories and guest behaviors, and being a passionate advocate for great design. You’ll also collaborate closely with Target’s global creative teams, working across time zones to stay connected and aligned on priorities, deliverables, and creative direction. About you:
• 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience
• 7 - 10 years of relevant professional experience in Brand Design/Brand Identity
• Expert knowledge of all CS software and the Mac platform
• Strong creative portfolio demonstrating breadth of type, design and photo art direction capabilities, with a focus on Essentials, Hardlines or Apparel & Accessories
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface and present to all levels of the organization
• Think strategically, critically and creatively
• Action oriented with ability to prioritize and drive results
• Desire and ability to learn quickly – self-starting, highly motivated, fast working
• Collaborative influencer with a clear POV and ability to establish rapport with peers
• Adept at managing multiple, concurrent and complex projects
• Ability to identify the need for change and lead teams through it
• Works seamlessly with creative partners across global locations, including regular availability for early morning meetings
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
