Responsible for performing order quality control activities including validating orders against pick list, validating dates on merchandise to comply with member requirements, communicating findings daily to Fulfillment Manager for proper follow-up, and verifying merchandise according to priority of shipment.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

+ Ensures tools and supplies are readily available to perform daily tasks (scanner, batteries, calculators, pencil, pen).

+ Assists Order Forklift Driver with orders, verifies and checks orders as it is being pulled and placed on pallets.

+ Prioritizes orders to be reviewed and validated based on the loading schedule and level of difficulty.

+ Ensures quality control process and pallet checks are performed under CCTV cameras and takes pictures as needed to validate process.

+ Ensures the layout of the pallet is stable and free of any damages, spills, or cross-contamination of food and/or chemical items.

+ Ensures full pallets, personal health items, chemicals, clothing, Ricamar orders and consolidated orders are fully verified.

+ Validates the date codes on all food items and ensures merchandise is not expired and is within the specified dates parameters of the member order.

+ Communicates daily with the Fulfillment Manager to follow-up with corrective action as needed. Submits a weekly recap report to the Fulfillment Manager on all findings for the week.

+ Ensure all findings are keyed in the computer on the quality control finding report log, prints report daily, and gives to the Fulfillment Manager for follow-up.

+ Maintains all club policies and procedures.

+ Performs other duties as assigned and works in other departments as needed.

Qualifications

+ Must be at least 18 years of age.

+ Open availability required.

+ Previous export quality control experience preferred.

+ Big box/wholesale retail experience preferred.

+ Previous RF scanner experience preferred.

Environmental Job Conditions

+ Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces.

+ Frequently positioning oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.

+ Continuously requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or oversized objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.

+ Usually in an environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There may be exposure to temperature extremes at times to pull refrigerated orders. There may be occasional exposure to Company-approved chemicals and cleaning agents.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $16.75 - $20.10
