Preferred qualifications:
+ Experience with AI, machine learning, and natural language understanding (NLU).
+ Experience with Business Platforms or Business Products, or Commerce products.
+ Experience communicating with C-level executives, with cross-functional stakeholder management and storytelling skills for a variety of audiences from highly technical engineers, to product managers, to legal/policy teams
+ Thought leadership and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex operational and strategic initiatives.
+ Passion for technology and technical depth to uncover root causes of complex technical problems and provide guidance on solving them.

The Merchant Applications and Experiences (MAX) team is responsible for building delightful products that help merchants manage their presence across Google surfaces and grow their businesses.
As a Senior Director, you will be responsible for the multi-year roadmap, strategy, and execution of the products that form the foundation of the merchant experience. You will lead a talented team of engineers to build and scale key marquee products (e.g. Google Merchant Center), manage critical partnerships and integrations with the retail ecosystem, and develop innovative generative AI experiences like Google Product Studio to help merchants succeed. This role is highly cross-functional, is at the intersection of product, engineering, data science, partnerships, and UX/design.
In this role, you will be responsible for critical programs with a significant opportunity to review and engage with the Commerce Executive team. You will be responsible for building the ML and intelligence into the data provided to power the most relevant shopping experiences for shoppers across their many shopping journeys, spanning from Google Search, YouTube, Google Maps, Gemini App, and Google Shopping Ads.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $349,000-$485,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
+ Set the technical outlook and strategic direction for creating delightful products that help merchants manage their presence across Google surfaces and grow their businesses.
+ Define and deliver on key metrics for merchant success, platform scalability, and user experience across the Merchant product portfolio, including Merchant Center and key partnerships.
+ Deliver forward-thinking and innovative approaches to challenges that present critical long-term risks or opportunities to Google, such as ensuring a high-quality experience for merchants.
+ Drive cross-organizational collaborations to ensure that multiple work streams are integrated and aligned with key partners in Engineering, Partnerships, Operations, and Go-to-Market.
