Our mission is to foster a thriving marketplace through education, common-sense regulation, and equitable enforcement of the law, ensuring swift accountability for fraudsters and justice for victims. *Job Overview* The CSI is seeking a self-motivated, solutions-driven temporary*Human Resources Generalist 2*. This position coordinates and delivers human resources services for the agency, including performance management, job description creation and classification, recruitment, coaching, employee relations, career planning and development, data analysis, and compensation management. This is an on-site position located in Helena, Montana (not eligible for teleworking) and is a temporary position offering up to 12 months of employment. *What can you offer us?* The successful candidate will be responsible for the following essential functions and other similar tasks: * Establish, implement, maintain, interpret, and explain human resources policies, procedures, practices, and regulations/laws. * Investigate employee relations and performance issues and provide guidance and recommendations to management. * Provide operational HR expertise and solutions using a comprehensive understanding of a variety of HR functional areas. * Write job descriptions and classify positions. * Develop and coordinate recruitment and selection processes. * Conduct investigations, write reports, and make recommendations based on conclusions. * Lead responses to grievances, formal complaints, or claims. * Provide management training and coaching on human resource topics, including performance management, interviewing, discipline, documentation, and coaching. * Gather relevant data and metrics, provide insightful analysis in support of decision making, and recommend appropriate solutions. * Must be able to work with highly sensitive and confidential information and maintain confidentiality. * Develop and implement employee communication plans and methods in response to organizational changes and/or HR processes. * Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and data entry programs, including creating spreadsheets, working with data, and creating documents. *Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements* * Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. * Three years of specialized human resources experience. * Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted. *Preferred Experience and Certifications* * Knowledge of State HR systems, including SABHRS and SOMRS * Certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) or the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) *Ideal Candidate Profile and Competencies* In addition to education, experience, and preferred certifications, we are looking for candidates who will bring the following competencies: * *Digital Agility:*Effectively using HR technology and staying current with digital practices is key to increasing efficiency and impact. * *Problem-solving and critical thinking:* Identifying the root cause of problems and breaking down complex issues. * *Communication Skills:* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective business writing, spelling, punctuation, and grammar. * *Conflict Resolution and Risk Management:*Handling employee disputes and mitigating legal and operational risks are central responsibilities of the role. * *Interpersonal Skills:* Ability to build, establish, and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, industry professionals, and the public; able to work both as part of a team and independently. * *Customer Focus and Service Orientation:* Customer-centric mindset, attention to detail, and follow-through. * *Organizational Skills:* Strong organizational skills and effective time management, flexibility, and multitasking abilities. * *Self-Management:*Initiative to work in a self-directed and proactive manner; ability to accomplish multiple priorities with short deadlines. * *Professionalism; Adaptability and Flexibility. *Adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing priorities, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. *How to Apply* If you have the qualifications and an interest in protecting Montana consumers, please submit the following: 1. *Online application at statecareers.mt.gov* 2. *Cover Letter:*Describe how your work experience and any educational background relate to the position requirements.** 3. *Resume* 4. *Minimum of Three Professional References* *Note*, when uploading and submitting your application materials, please mark your attachments as “relevant” or we will be unable to view them.
