    The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels, and restaurants. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly, and we strive to meet this goal in our day-to-day operations.

    The Work You Will Do:

    This is a highly professional position, located in the Director’s Office, with the responsibility of serving as the Division’s Technology Knowledge Champion and overseeing the Division’s Public Records Liaison and an Administrative Assistant II position.

    Your Specific Responsibilities:

    The incumbent in this position is responsible for all required tasks related to managing supervisors and their employees.

     

    + Submits all Help Tickets to IT on behalf of Division management. Serves as the point of contact for Division IT projects.

    + Proactively identifies potential IT-related concerns and suggests effective solutions for handling and resolving such IT issues.

    + Ensures their supervisor is fully informed of all IT-related matters that may impact Division operations, policies, or procedures, including those with substantive fiscal implications or that are sensitive or time-sensitive in nature.

    + Creates an onboarding IT training program for all new staff regarding programs, including, but not limited to, OnBase, Versa, Qlik, and Outlook.

    + Schedules a time with the new staff member and their supervisor to administer the IT training program as part of that new staff member's onboarding.

    + Maintains an updated IT training program to include any new software programs or any substantive updates to existing programs.

    + Assists the Division with any technology assistance as needed. Provides prompt hands-on assistance.

    + Maintains inventory of Division IT equipment.

    + Acts as the Division's coordinator for the Continuity of Operations Plan.

    + Occasional travel, including overnight travel, may be required.

    + Performs other related work as required.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Two (2) years supervisory experience

    + Three (3) years of technology support experience

    + Valid driver’s license

     

    Preferred

     

    + A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    + Proficient in the use of technology, including Microsoft Professional Office Software, hardware, data systems and the Internet.

    + Ability to communicate effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

    + Ability to manage and direct workloads for subordinates.

    + Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

    + Ability to assist in the training of and to train personnel.

    + Ability to research, prepare, and disseminate informational or statistical data to the public or agency personnel.

    + Ability to work independently and within a group.
