    Your Specific Responsibilities:

    This position spends more than 50% of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. This includes communicating with,

     

    motivating, training, and evaluating employees in addition to planning and directing employees’ work. The incumbent has the authority

     

    to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively

     

    recommend such action. The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss

     

    performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and complete

     

    timesheets.

     

    Exercises Practice Management supervision over nursing support and clinical personnel for the Family Planning, STD, HIV, Refugee

     

    Health programs, the Laboratory, and Front Desk. Responsible for daily clinic operations and supervisory duties which include

     

    monitoring of clinical processes and flow through the use of Q-Flow and HMS, and productivity to ensure effective functioning and

     

    compliance with practice standards and quality measures. Participates in ongoing development of clinic programs including nurse

     

    and support staff orientation, recruitment and retention of staff, performance evaluations, and other HR actions as appropriate.

     

    Attends nurse management meetings, and participates on relevant clinical committees. Makes sure that Employee Activity Records

     

    (EARs) are being completed correctly and timely to each program. Reports all problems related to client or staff to Senior Community

     

    Health Nursing Director (SCHND) or Community Health Nursing Consultant, on a regular basis. Under general supervision of SCHND

     

    for all clinical activities. Participates and assists in preparation of and monitors annual budget and participates in all budget hearings

     

    and reviews. Performs related field work as required and other duties.

     

    Assists physicians with clinic sessions as needed to ensure proper flow of clinic and effective patient care. Accurately document all

     

    patient information when working in clinic. Performs telephonic and walk-in triage as necessary. Responsible for management of clinic

     

    resources, and appropriate assignment of staff roles/functions. Assists staff with ensuring effective operations of the clinic.

     

    Instructs and orients new personnel in public health procedures and practices. Provides staff with ongoing instructions for problems

     

    related to their work. Keeps abreast of changes to programs and ensures team is aware of and implementing said updates. Participates

     

    in community health education programs and activities, coordinates volunteer services, orients and trains new volunteers.

     

    Works closely with Senior Management, Medical Execuive Director, Senior Community Health Nursing Director, Community Health

     

    Nursing Consultant, Administrative Support Consultat, Physicians, and staff to provide assistance as needed.

     

    Assists with developing and revising nursing procedures, evaluates clinic activities to ensure that current medical techniques, policies

     

    and procedures are in use and properly carried out. Participates in quality assurance monitoring of programs and staff.

     

    Ensures adherence to Nursing protocol, department of health policies, and nurse practice standards.

     

    Participates in community health education programs and activities, outreach events, coordinates volunteer services, orients and trains

     

    new volunteers. Performs other related duties as required. Maintains relationships with community partners.

     

    Information Custodian responsibilities include maintaining information in accordance with state and federal statutes, rules, regulations,

     

    and Department of Health Security Policy 3 and associated Protocols and Procedures as it relates to Information Custodian, Delegation

     

    of Authority. This responsibility is to be adhered to 100% of the time. This individual will be responsible for all supervisory duties

     

    including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and

     

    directing work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Knowledge of nursing principles, practices

     

    and techniques. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Ability to supervise people. Ability to provide direct patient care and

     

    treatment. Ability to assess patients’ progress and evaluate nursing care plans. Ability to work with patients having a variety of physical

     

    problems. Ability to develop nursing care activities for patient groups. Ability to plan, develop and conduct training programs. Ability to

     

    determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to

     

    establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum -

     

    + Valid Registered Nurse license for the State of Florida or a multistate license which includes Florida

    + At least 2 years of Practice Management Experience

    + At least 5 years as a Registered Nurse

    + Willing to perform emergency duty during disasters before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours

     

    Preferred -

     

    + Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a higher degree, or working towards obtaining a BSN

    + Experience working for the Florida Department of Health (DOH) or other public health setting
