About the role

As a SAP ABAP/RAP/BTP Technology Architect, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and implementing custom solutions within the SAP S/4HANA environment, leveraging modern development paradigms like SAP Fiori/UI5, ABAP RESTful Application Programming (RAP), and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). You will be a valued member of the Technology team and work collaboratively with functional consultants, business analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

In this role, you will:

+ Design, develop, test, and deploy custom applications and enhancements using ABAP, ABAP Objects, and RAP model on SAP S/4HANA.

+ Drive adoption of SAP Clean Core principle by developing non-disruptive extensibility solutions.

+ Develop and integrate microservices and applications using SAP BTP and CAPM for robust solutions.

+ Design and implement OData services for seamless data exchange between backend and external systems.

+ Collaborate with functional consultants and business analysts to translate requirements into technical specifications.

Work model: Onsite 5 days per week in Raritan, NJ

What you need to have to be considered

+ 10+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development.

+ Proven expertise with SAP S/4HANA development practices.

+ Strong hands-on experience with ABAP RESTful Application Programming (RAP).

+ Solid understanding of SAP Clean Core methodology and cloud mindset.

+ Experience designing and developing OData services and integrating with SAP Fiori/UI5 applications.

+ Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and its services.

+ Experience with CAPM for building cloud-native applications is highly desirable.

+ Proficiency in modern ABAP debugging, performance tuning, and unit testing frameworks.

These will help you stand out

+ Experience with Git for version control.

+ Knowledge of Fiori/UI5 development.

+ SAP Certification in relevant areas (e.g., S/4HANA Development, BTP).

+ Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

+ SAP Certified Development Associate - SAP Fiori Application Developer.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $138,000 - $162,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
