Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) – School-Based
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (37.5 paid hours/week, includes 30-min paid break)
Assignment: FMLA Coverage – Mid to Late March
About the Role
Are you passionate about helping students thrive through therapeutic recreation? We’re seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to join our Autism Program and make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary-aged students. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans and deliver engaging, skill-building recreational therapy services.
This is a full-time, school-based position covering an FMLA leave—perfect for someone who loves working in education and creating positive experiences for students with diverse needs.
What You’ll Do
+ Provide skilled recreational therapy services in alignment with physician orders.
+ Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the team.
+ Support 3 elementary classrooms (18 students total) within an Autism Program.
+ Foster social, emotional, and physical development through therapeutic activities.
Ideal Candidate
+ Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) per state/client requirements.
+ At least 1 year of experience in Recreation Therapy (preferred).
+ Water Safety and Health Fitness Instructor certifications (preferred).
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable).
+ Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to a school environment.
Additional Requirements
+ TB screening and health certificate per state regulations.
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
+ At least 18 years of age.
