Position: Middle Lead Paraprofessional
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Duration: Immediate start through end of the school year (potential renewal)
Pay Rate: $30–$32 per hour (based on experience and licensure)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Middle School Lead Paraprofessional to lead a substantially separate classroom serving students with significant needs. The classroom includes 8 students and 3 paraprofessionals, and we are looking for an educator who can provide strong leadership, foster a supportive and inclusive environment, and deliver high-quality instruction tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and manage a substantially separate classroom.
+ Support and guide paraprofessionals in daily activities.
+ Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with students’ IEPs.
+ Cultivate a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
+ Ensure compliance with the IEP process and documentation requirements.
+ Utilize strategies to support students with significant needs, including:
+ Non-verbal communication and use of communication devices.
+ Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related diagnoses.
+ Address behavioral challenges such as non-compliance, aggression, and elopement using de-escalation techniques.
+ Apply principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) when appropriate.
+ Maintain a calm, patient, and supportive approach in a dynamic classroom setting.
Qualifications
+ At least 2 years of school based Special Education experience
+ Experience working with students with high needs and behavioral challenges.
+ Familiarity with ABA principles and behavior management strategies.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Ability to remain composed and effective in challenging situations.

Minimum Requirements:
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
