Special Education Teacher | St. Louis, MO | $42/hr | Full-Time | 5-Month Contract

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking Special Education Teachers to provide quality services to students in grades K–12. Teachers will collaborate with general education staff to plan and implement individualized programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and behavioral support.

Position Details

+ Location: St. Louis, MO

+ Start Date: December 8, 2025

+ End Date: End of school year

+ Duration: 5 months

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday | Elementary: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | High School: 6:45 AM – 2:30 PM

+ Hours: 37.5 hrs/week

+ Breaks: 30-minute unpaid

+ Modality: In-person

+ Pay Rate: $42/hr

+ Caseload: 10–15 students

+ Openings: Multiple positions

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)

+ Provide specialized instruction and tutorial assistance

+ Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers

+ Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

+ Support students in behavioral and academic development

+ Communicate effectively with parents and staff

+ Push-in/pull-out support and manage behavioral needs

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Valid state teaching certificate (Special Education endorsement required)

+ Minimum 1 year teaching experience (preferred)

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)

+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest X-ray (if applicable)

+ Current health certificate (per contract/state regulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age

+ Classroom Support: Para support provided

+ Interview: Virtual with SPED Director

+ Onboarding: Amergis standard + fingerprints

+ Timekeeping: MTC system
