About this Job
Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of HVAC/Control Technician. The HVAC/Control Technician position is located in the Facilities Services Department. This is a full-time position.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience or training in the installation or maintenance of pneumatic, electrical, or electronic control systems for heating (including boiler), ventilating, or air conditioning systems.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Directly supervise campus police officers, assigning duties and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
+ Conduct roll calls, inspect officers, vehicles, and equipment, and provide guidance on law enforcement protocols.
+ Train, mentor, and evaluate subordinate officers to maintain high professional standards.
+ Patrol campus grounds and buildings to prevent crime, maintain order, and provide assistance as needed.
+ Investigate campus incidents, including criminal activities, accidents, and security concerns, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
+ Enforce federal, state, and local laws, as well as BRCC regulations, to ensure a safe campus environment.
+ Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents, disturbances, and natural disasters, coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
+ Develop and implement security protocols for major campus events, ensuring crowd control and emergency preparedness.
+ Assist in planning and executing safety drills and emergency response training sessions.
+ Maintain accurate reports and documentation related to law enforcement activities, incidents, and investigations.
+ Ensure compliance with Clery Act reporting requirements and other applicable campus safety regulations.
+ Serve as a liaison between campus police and other BRCC departments, fostering collaboration on safety initiatives.
Position Specific Details
Appointment Type: Probationary appointment with a one-year agency probationary period. Successful completion of this period is required before obtaining permanent status.
