    The mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to support the University’s mission by providing inclusive co-curricular learning experiences, support, and services for our student population by holistically developing students to have a purpose and positive impact in their communities. The departments within the division do this by providing activities, programs and services that engage students, fostering an inclusive environment amongst our campus community and guiding students in the attainment of healthy and successful life choices.

     

    The division provides support and services both inside and outside the classroom experience. The units in the division emphasize integrity, respect, fairness, clear communication, continuous improvement, and a strong focus on serving students. The division supports academic and student success from entrance to graduation and placement by supporting and providing students with co-curricular learning opportunities that enhance growth and development of the whole person.

    Description of Job

    The Resource Navigator plays a key non-clinical resource for students navigating personal, academic, and social challenges that may impact their college experience. This position triages student concerns referred to Pack CARES, manages an assigned caseload, and provides timely outreach, intervention, and support to promote student retention, persistence, and holistic wellness. The Resource Navigator also provides support to the Pack CARES team by participating in case review, documentation, and coordinated care efforts. This is a .83 FTE position intended to support student needs from August through May.

    Primary Duties

    Non-Clinical Case Management

     

    + Provide case management services for students referred to Pack CARES who are experiencing a wide range of concerns including but not limited to academic challenges, mental and physical health issues, and financial difficulties.

    + Conduct comprehensive assessments of needs for residential, commuter, and online undergraduate and graduate students to support student retention and persistence.

    + Develop and implement individualized service plans tailored to each student's circumstances, including short-term interventions and long-term support strategies.

    + Provide ongoing monitoring and follow-up support to ensure students’ needs are met and goals are achieved.

    + Maintain a flexible schedule to meet with students (e.g., evenings) as needed.

    Pack CARES

    + Attend Pack CARES Team meetings and report progress related to student goals and utilization of resources.

    + Maintain repository of university and community resources and update procedural manuals and guides as needed.

    + Contribute to efforts involving assessment and reporting of key metrics related to case management.

    Basic Needs Support

    + Support programming for basic needs support, including Pack Pantry.

    + Promote basic needs support through university events (e.g., Orientation, Welcome Week, Student Affairs Open House, etc.) and tabling opportunities

    Salary Range

     

    $38,000 to $43,000

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, education, health studies, or related fields.

    + Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; able to build trust while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

    + Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and discretion.

    + Awareness of resources (within and/or outside of the university) for students with health, mental health or behavioral concerns both on and off campus.

    + Ability to provide non-clinical advising to students related to personal and educational matters.

    + Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up abilities.

    + 1 or more years of professional work experience in higher education or a field related to case management.

    + Experience working with student populations reflective of CSU Pueblo.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Knowledge of learning methods of college populations. Utilize current research and guidelines to develop meaningful educational materials for the college age population.

    + Ability to document information such as success plans, interventions, goals, and outcomes in a secure database.

    + At least two years of professional work experience in higher education or a field related to case management.

    + Experience in data collection, analysis, and program evaluation.

    + Experience with student information software such as Starfish or Maxient.

    + Experience in a position managing referrals and track students’ successful completion of health, mental health and behavioral challenge success plans and report to appropriate parties.
