Description of Job
*Due to the State's current hiring freeze, this position will not be filled until January 1 or after.
The Classroom Programs Coordinator is responsible for the administrative support of History Colorado Center school programs, which are primarily utilized in classrooms, including History Take-Out classes, artifact kit rentals, and online resources. This position exists to provide organizational support to History Colorado’s education programs by handling reservations, payments, and communications with teachers and other school personnel, as well as training and scheduling program facilitators. This is a key customer service position that interfaces directly with teachers and students.
Work includes but is not limited to the following:
Brief Duty Description:
+ Processes program reservations and payments.
+ Trains, schedules, and evaluates program facilitators.
+ Point person for teacher communications, including confirmation emails, questions, and follow-up surveys.
+ Conducts program evaluation, including administering surveys and monitoring results.
+ Monitors and purchases program supplies.
+ Coordinates the Educational Use Collection.
+ Prepares and ships artifact kits to schools across the state.
+ Promotes classroom programs at off-site education events.
+ Facilitates field trips and out-of-school-time camp activities as needed.
+ Participates in Education Advisory Board group meetings and discussions.
+ Updates educational materials on the website as needed.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Proven Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
+ Two (2) years of full-time professional experience with a primary focus on
+ K-12 educational program administration and oversight.
+ Part-time experience will be prorated.
OR
Education and Experience:
+ A combination of related education and/or relevant experience with K-12 educational program administration and oversight
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with culturally responsive customer service.
+ Experience working with volunteers and/or interns.
+ Ability to adapt strengths and experience to continue, change, or make new procedures.
+ Effective verbal communication and cooperation with colleagues.
+ Ability to work efficiently and keep track of numerous projects simultaneously.
+ Strong customer service skills, with a desire to work with the public, specifically in K-12 settings.
+ Familiarity with Google Suite.
Conditions of Employment :
+ Circumstances may require a position to work outside of regular business hours.

+ Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of employment.
Substitutions:
+ A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or college in Education, Museum Studies, History, Anthropology, or another relevant field will count for 1 year of required experience.

+ Project management skills: ability to multitask, problem-solve, prioritize, create systems and processes, and collaborate with and engage others.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities, and able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.
+ Detail-oriented.
+ Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively and articulately in writing and orally with diverse communities in all corners of the state.
+ Work well under pressure.
+ Proactive approaches to problem-solving and strong decision-making capability.
+ Highly resourceful team player who is also extremely effective independently.
